In morning warm-ups for today’s Toyota Grand Prix at Long Beach, the top speed was that of Graham Rahal, driver of the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Laniagn Theodore Racing Honda. Following him in second is pole sitter for the race Helio Castroneves, driver of the No. 3 Team Penske Auto Club of Southern California Chevrolet.
Following in third was Juan Pablo Montoya, James Hinchcliffe and reigning champion Scott Dixon.
Rounding out the rest of the top ten-10 in warm up speeds were as follows Sebastien Bourdais, Simon Pagenaud, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Mikhail Aleshin and Alexander Rossi.
It’s well to note that despite a strong weekend so far, Will Power, driver of the No. 12 Team Penske Verizon Chevrolet, was 20th during morning warm up. He had led two of the practices for speed and qualified sixth for the race.
Honda had five cars in the Top-10 in warm up speeds so they might have found some speed that had been missing so far this weekend. The fastest Honda in qualifying was that of James Hinchclife, driver No.5 Arrow Electronic Honda, who will start seventh.
The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach race is up later today.
