Following a successful campaign last year, Terry Woodley is set to return to Sunset Speedway this season in hopes of having more continued success.
While the numbers were great last year, there’s one big goal that is on the mind of the NFC Motorsports team.
“Just want to be more competitive and get that feature win,” Woodley said.
To be able to do that, the veteran says the key to success will be making sure that he’s up on the wheel every week, while making sure the team keeps up on their adjustments. He knows it’s going to be a tough all season, though, as “the competition is second to nowhere.”
Beyond a possible trip, or two, or more to victory lane, he also hopes to keep his “reputation as being a relativiely clean racer, and a good guy to have a beer with after the races”.
Last year, Woodley finished eighth in the season-ending standings, capping off the year with a runner-up finish in the Velocity 250. He ran third most of the race, though ended up second after Andy Kamrath blew up with four laps to go. The consistency that he displayed was noticed by everybody as Woodley posted 13 straight top-10 finish and two extended distance feature top-fives.
“I’m happy we improved all season and to run third at Velocity behind Kamrath and (Brandon) McFerran is my best highlight,” he commented.
