Bryan Clauson’s Dale Coyne/Jonathan Byrd racecar for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 added another sponsor to its line-up with the addition of Context Design.
“Context Design is excited to be part of this incredible celebration– the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500!” Alyssa Prazeau, Managing Partner of Context, said.
Context Design is an Indianapolis, Indianapolis based small landscape architecture and land planning firm that was established in 1998. They help to develop purposeful spaces and experiences that bridge people to the land. The studio had progressed over 18 years in the business and now reach projects in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest regions of the country.
“Above all else, we are a company built upon relationships,” said Fred Prazeau, Partner with Context. “While getting to know the Byrd family as we have worked together on some of their exciting new projects, it became clear to us that the shared values of our companies could transcend site design projects.
“I have vivid memories as a youngster of how racing in May captivated the sprint of our entire community. Whether it was watching dirt fly with Gurney, Volger, and Bettenhausen at the “Hoosier Hundred” or hearing Tom Carnegie chant ‘It’s a new track record’, as Rick Mears or Tom Sneva blazed across the yard of bricks, everyone was immersed in the spectacle. It’s our pleasure to play a small part in this big anniversary for Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis community along with Jonathan Byrd Racing.”
Clauson is best knows for his achievements in dirt-track open-wheel racing where he is a two-time USAC National Midget Series Champion and three-time USAC National Drivers Champion. He has started two previous Indy 500’s 2012 and 2015.
“Every year, the Indy 500 is a celebration, and there is nothing in the world like it,” he said. “This year though, the energy around the event is reaching a level that I’ve never seen, and it’s awesome to see so many people and companies wanting to have a role in it. I think that’s especially evidenced by what you are seeing with our program for Indy. I’m excited to welcome Fred, Alyssa and everyone at Context Designs to the Jonathan Byrd’s team and I can’t wait to get one track on May 16th!”
The Indianapolis 500 runs on Sunday May 29th.
