If any Verizon IndyCar Series fan would like to honor Justin Wilson now they can by buying a pair of his socks put out by the company owned by his widow Julia and Michael Waddell, all while supporting a foundation and cause near and dear to his heart. USWAG Wilson’s performance athletic sock company has release a sock specially inspired by Wilson and the majority of the proceed from the purchase will go to the Dyslexic Institute of Indiana (Dii).
Wilson, was an advocate and spokesperson for the Indianapolis based Dii and helped the with his support of dyslexia awareness an also encouraging early diagnosis. Wilson, who was a diagnosed dyslexic with his personal message “Dyslexia Doesn’t Stop Me” that he carried across a range variety of media, as well as a few advertising campaigns featuring gentle giant, who was a favorite among many.
“Dii was very important to Justin and he wanted to help get the message out there to everyone,” Wilson’s widow, Julia said. “He loved working with the kids, telling them to follow their dreams and to never give up. Making a Justin Wilson sock is a great way to continue his legacy to make people aware Dyslexia is out there. The proceeds go to help the Dii. It’s a pretty cool-looking sock and I can’t wait to see people wearing them.”
