Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No.88 Mountain Dew Chevrolet, will have a special scheme for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The paint scheme will have a patriotic theme.
The all-star race is always a spectacle, but will be undergoing a complete format change as to previous years. It always proves to be exciting with the winner of the non-points event receiving a $1 million paycheck.
Junior won a race (Talladega April) in 2015, so he is qualified for the All-Star Race. He will join his teammates Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson, who are also locked into the race. His teammate Chase Elliott, who is contending for Rookie of the Year, will have to either win his way in via the Sprint Showdown or to be voted in via the fan vote.
The All Star race is Saturday May 21 at 7 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
