Sebastien Bourdais, driver of the No.11 Team EUROPA Chevrolet, is looking to turn his season around at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
He hasn’t had a horrible season but he hasn’t had a great one either. He finished 21st at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on the streets of St Petersburg, finished in the top-10 with an eighth place finish at the West Diamond Desert Valley Grand Prix of Phoenix at Phoenix International Raceway, a ninth place finish at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long beach on the streets of Long Beach and a 16th place finish at Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park.
Bourdais runs well at the road course at IMS. During the Inaugural race in 2014, Bourdais finished in the top-five with fourth place finish; he followed that up the following year in 2015 with another top-five and finishing fourth again.
Currently sitting 14th in the championship point standings, a top-five finish would really boast his confidence as well move him up in the points.
“I like the design of the Indy road circuit,” Bourdais said. “There are a couple of good passing zones, but like all the road and street courses on the schedule, qualifying will be very important. We have finished fourth in the Indy Grand Prix the last two years and last year it was our first top-five finish of the season. Hopefully we can at least do that again this year. The EUROPA – KVSH Racing team has shown good pace, but we haven’t achieved the results we wanted so far this season. We just have to keep working and have a good race this weekend for the team and our sponsors.”
