NCWTS: William Byron Leads First Dover 200 Practice at Dover

In the first practice ahead of the Dover 200 on Friday, it’d be William Byron topping the charts with a lap of 2.581 seconds. The Kyle Busch Motorsports driver is coming off of a great run at Kansas where he scored his first career victory.

Brandon Jones was second quickest, 0.104 seconds off of Byron. Matt Tifft was third in his second start with Red Horse Racing following a 14th place finish last weekend at Kansas Speedway.

ThorSport Racing teammates Cameron Hayley and Matt Crafton rounded out the top-five. Hayley is searching for his first career victory after posting two top-10s to start the year, while Crafton has shown speed this year, but has yet to win a race. The defending series champion has ran in the top-five in each of the first four races, posting three top-10 finishes. While he hasn’t ever won at Dover, he has posted a top-10 finish in seven of his last eight starts.

Daniel Suarez was sixth, followed by Daniel Hemric, Ben Rhodes, Rico Abreu and Christopher Bell.
