On the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course for the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis, Charlie Kimball, driver of the No. 83 Tresiba Chevrolet, scored a top-five finish.
The Camarillo, California native come into this race with two top-10 finishes this season, though this marks his first top-five.
“Frankly, I’m a little disappointed with a top-five, I think we were better than that today,” he said. “I wasn’t awesome on a couple of the race craft pieces but we made progress in the pits.”
Kimball was up front most of the race and stayed consistent to finish in the fifth position when the checkered flags flew to end the race.
“The conditions being so different I think we caught out a little bit,” he said. “The car a definitely better when it was warmer yesterday, but overall a solid day for the No. 83 car.”
It’s well to note this is the third Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the Chip Ganassi Racing driver has finished fifth in all three.
Next up will be the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29th.
