After taking the lead just past halfway, Wayden Thorne didn’t look back en route to scoring the victory.
The opening lap wouldn’t go as pole sitter Stephanie Kopecny hoped, as she would get sideways while running three-wide, with Mark DaSilva running into the left front of her car. DaSilva was done for the feature with feature, while Kopecny was speaking with medical officials, but taken to the hospital for further observation.
Once the drama of the opening laps sorted out, Lofton Schuts pulled out into the early lead ahead of Wayde Thorne, Josh Shantz, Andy Wheller and Matt Young as Ross Winters Jr. and Roger Lessard battled for sixth at Lap 7. Lessard got the spot a lap later ahead of Winters Jr., Caroline Kelly and Eric Crow as Ashton Reekie and Blair Mayhew battled for 10th. Mayhew moved into the spot at Lap 11 ahead of Reekie as Steve DeLeeuw pulled off the track.
At the front of the field, Thorne made his move for the lead on Lap 13, taking the top spot as the leaders diced their way through lap traffic. Shantz moved up to second as Schuts ran third.
