Second day of practice for the historic 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a total wash out and had to be cancelled due to all day rain at the track.
Monday had been opening day at IMS and first day of practice for the 100th Indy 500. The top speed posted by Marco Andretti, driver of the No. 27 Snapple Honda, as he posted a 228.978 mph. Right behind him in second thru fourth for his Andretti Autosport teammates, Carlos Munoz with a 228.945 mph, Ryan Hunter Raey with 228.03 mph and Alexander Rossi with 226.865. Scott Dixon, driver of the No. 9 Target Chevrolet, rounded out the top-five with 226.835 mph; he was the only Chevrolet in the top-five.
Practice for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will continue at IMS again Wednesday May 18th through Friday May 20th.
