It was announced on Tuesday that Tony Stewart, who is retiring at the end of the 2016 NASCAR sseason, will give the command to fire up the engines before the Sprint All Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
Stewart, who is set to start the event via winning the 2009 edition, will give the command from the seat of his No. 14 car. He has been in every All Star Race since his rookie season in 1999, however his only win came in his first year as a driver-owner at Stewart-Haas Racing. Ninth is his average finish in the All Star Race that he has started 17 times.
Smoke is hopeful for a good run this weekend after finishing deep in the field at Dover International Speedway following a blown engine.
