In the sixth practice for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway saw six Chevrolet and four Hondas in the top-10 of speeds.
The top speed was that of Alexander Rossi, driver of the No. 98 NAPA Autopart Honda, with a speed of 231.249 mph.
Behind him in second was his Andretti Autosport teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay, driver of the No. 28 DHL Honda with a speed of 231.107 mph.
The fastest Chevrolet for the session was Tony Kanaan, driver of the No. 10 NTT Data car with a speed of 230.360 mph.
Rounding out the top-five were Team Penske teammates Helio Castroneves, driver of the No. 3 Pennzoil Chevrolet, with a speed of 230.239 mph and Will Power, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet, with a speed of 229.828 mph.
Sixth through tenth were as follows: Josef Newgarden, Juan Pablo Montoya, Scott Dixon, Graham Rahal and Spencer Pigot.
There was one incident during the session as Max Chilton, driver of the No. 8 Gallagher Chevrolet lost control in Turn 2 on the corner exit and made contact with the wall. There was enough damage that the Chip Ganassi Team will have to go to the back up car.
