George Wilson is known as an OSCAAR winner in the Outlaw Super Late Model ranks, but now he can say that he’s done the same in the modified ranks. Filling in for Mike Hearty in the No. 20 this past weekend, Wilson scored the feature victory at Flamboro Speedway.
Defending series champion Gary McLean won the first heat ahead of John Harper, Luke Gignac, Dean Scott, Dan Price and David Balych.
A.J. Emms scored his first career heat victory in the second heat ahead of Gary Elliott, Corey Horner, Wilson and Rick Schurr.
The third heat saw a quick caution as Price went for a spin after contact with Gignac. Emms went on to score the victory for a sweep ahead of Scott, Price and Gignac.
George Wilson won the final heat ahead of Harper, Balych, McLean, Elliott and Horner.
After showing speed on Saturday, George Wilson returned to the speedway on Sunday and got the job done, scoring the feature victory. Notably, it’s the first win for the Mike Hearty team following Hearty’s best finish of fourth late last season.
Rounding out the podium would be a pair of sophomores with A.J. Emms and David Balych. It marks the best career finish for the pair, and notably the first career top-five for Balych. Emms posted a best finish of third during his rookie year last season.
Cory Horner finished fouth, continuing his strong of string of success from last year, while Luke Gignac rounded out the top-five in his first career OSCAAR start. Dan Price finished sixth, followed by Gary Elliott, Gary McLean, Rob Di Venanzo, Rick Schurr, John Harper and Dean Scott.
The OSCAAR Modifieds are back in action in a couple weeks at Delaware Speedway on June 3.
