Matt Bentley is certainly going after the Super Stock Championship full tail as he would score his second points win in a row. Notably, he has yet to finish outside of the top-two this year if you also count the Spring Velocity.
He started the night in victory lane, winning the first heat ahead of Mike Weeda, Herb Walters, Paul Allard, Anthony DiBello, Kendra Adams, Ethan Constable, Ric Watson and Ken Semkin.
Ryan Semple won the second heat ahead of Ken Grubb, Justin Holmes, Stefan Semeraro, Jordan Howse, Nic Troback, Johnny Morrison, Coltin Everingham and Troy Jones.
The third heat didn’t go cleanly as Treyten Lapcevich made contact with Fedele DiBello, causing him to go around on Lap 5. The caution didn’t fly then, but flew a lap later as Dustyn Mombourquette spun in turn four. The restart produced the second caution with Frank Davey spinning Nick Tooley.
The pair of leaders had contact back and forth, causing each other to get sideways at times, but it’d be Stan Coe winning ahead of Dan Archibald, Miles Tyson, Jade Franklin, Lapcevich, Davey, DiBello, Tooley and John Latimer.
Ryan Semple won the Fast Qualifier’s Dash ahead of Bentley, Coe, Archibald, Weeda, Walters, Grubb, Semeraro, Tyson, Franklin, Holmes and Allard.
Treyten Lapcevich picked up his first career Super Stock victory by winning the first b-main ahead of Troback, Constable, Anthony DiBello, Everingham, Mombourquette and Semkin.
The second b-main saw some issues as Adams had an issue before the green, followed by Jones with an issue on Lap 1, and Tooley with a problem on Lap 2. The race was cut short at six laps, rather than the usual 10 laps, with Spring Velocity winner Jordan Howse winning.
With qualifying in the books, it’d be Justin Holmes starting pole ahead of Stefan Semeraro, Johnny Morrison, Mike Weeda, Stan Coe, Miles Tyson, Paul Allard, Dan Archibald, Ken Grubb, Jade Franklin, Herb Walters, Treyten Lapcevich, Matt Bentley, Frank Davey, Nick Troback, Paul Howse, Ryan Semple, Anthony DiBello, Ric Watson, Coltin Everingham, Nick Tooley, Fedele DiBello, Ken Semkin, Kendra Adams and Ethan Constable.
The feature started off messy as Dan Archibald put Miles Tyson and Stan Coe three-wide, resulting on contact that’d get Tyson loose, pointed sideways on the frontstretch. Tyson saved it and everybody was able to keep going with no problems. Though, not everybody got a happy beginning, as Ken Grubb stalled to bring out the caution.
Justin Holmes jumped out to the early lead behind the wheel of the Hwy 400 Transmission sponsored Mustang ahead of Morrison and Coe. However, the caution flew on Lap 3 as a result of Adams spun Anthony DiBello, as DiBello checked up for contact up in front of him between Fedele DiBello and Ric Watson. With 28 laps to go, Holmes led Morrison, Coe, Archibald, Semeraro, Weeda, Tyson, Allard, Walters, Bentley, Troback, Lapcevich, Semple, Howse and Franklin.
Holmes got a good restart to keep the lead ahead of Morrison as Archibald battled Coe for third. Archibald took the spot at Lap nine ahead of Coe, as Weeda ran fifth ahead of Semeraro while Tyson and Bentley battled for seventh. Bentley got the spot on lap 12 ahead of Tyson, as Walters battled Troback for ninth. Lapcevich rounded out the top-10 at the time, as Howse and Semple battled for 11th.
The front of the field got more interesting as the race hit the midway point, with Morrison getting alongside Holmes for the lead on Lap 14. Morrison put the No. 83 Little John Barristers, UCA, Fox’s Bakery and Deli, Freddie’s Fries, Hot Spot, Bent by Kent and Cabral Racing Promotions Nova out front two laps later ahead of Holmes, as Archibald and Weeda battled for third.
Weeda took the spot on Lap 18 ahead of Archibald as Coe, Bentley and Semeraro rounded out the top-seven. Archibald got back alongside Weeda for third at Lap 20, with Weeda getting sideways, which forced him to slow and lose some spots.
The caution flew a lap later for Howse spinning Semkin. Under caution, Everingham and Semple – both done for the race with mechanical problems. With 10 laps to go, Morrison led Holmes, Archibald, Coe, Semeraro, Tyson, Troback, Weeda, Walters, Lapcevich and Franklin.
The first attempt at a restart resulted in the fourth caution as Archibald spun Morrison. As a result, it’d be Holmes taking back the race lead with both drivers moved to the tail end of the lead lap cars.
Stan Coe got a good restart to put the No. 58 Super Stock out front ahead of Bentley as Holmes now ran third ahead of Troback. The race was halted, though, as the fifth caution flew on Lap 23 for Fedele DiBello going around. With eight laps to go, Coe led Bentley, Holmes, Troback, Weeda, Howse, Semeraro, Lapcevich, Walters, Franklin, Tyson, Allard, Tooley, Constable, Morrison, Adams, Archibald, DiBello, Anthony DiBello, Frank Davey and Ken Semkin.
The restart brought forth a battle for the lead between Coe and Bentley, which lasted till the sixth caution at Lap 26 for Weeda having a mechanical issue that forced him pit side.
Matt Bentley got a good restart to take over the top spot behind the wheel of the No. 21 GL Manufacturing, ThringCo., Streamline Race Products, Creative Edge and Bentley Motorsports Super Stock., leading the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Stan Coe, Jordan Howse, Treyten Lapcevich, Nick Troback, Jade Franklin, Stefan Semeraro, Justin Holmes, Miles Tyson and Dan Archibald.
