German Quiroga will make his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series next weekend at Texas Motor Speedway driving for Tom DeLoach’s Red Horse Racing in the No. 11 Toyota Tundra.
The 36-year-old driver from Mexico ran both the 2013 and 2014 NCWTS seasons with Red Horse Racing, but sponsorship woes forced Quiroga to step aside for the 2015 season.
Quiroga’s return at Texas is currently slated as a one-race deal, but could be turned into multiple races, if sponsorship comes along. Texas Motor Speedway has been a good track for Quiroga in the past as he finished third there in 2013 for RHR.
“I’m very happy to return to Red Horse Racing,” said Quiroga. “I hope we can put together a great run at Texas (Motor Speedway) and that we will be able to put something together so I can keep competing this season.”
Team owner Tom DeLoach was happy to have the opportunity to welcome Quiroga back to the team.
“We’re very excited to welcome Germán back to the Red Horse family,” said DeLoach. “We have a great opportunity to get him back behind the wheel and if sponsorship can be found, we hope to be able to run several more races with him.”
The three-time NASCAR Mexico Series champion recorded one pole, five top-five finishes and 16 top-10s for RHR between his two seasons. He also came close to winning several races, including Gateway in 2014 where he finished second.
