Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the No. 2 Verizon Chevrolet, came into the Chevrolet Dual at Detroit looking for redemption after a last place finish in the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 last month at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Team Penske driver qualified for the first race in the third position and when the race ended, he scored his second podium of the season finishing third.
The second race would bring misfortune as the Bogota, Colombia native would have on track issues. First was contact in Turn 7 with Scott Dixon, driver of the No. 9 Target Chevrolet, causing damage to his car requiring him to come down on to pit road for repairs.
Then in Lap 35, he made contact in the wall in Turn 10 which would end his day and relegate him to finish in 20th position.
Next up is the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway on June 4th, where in two starts he has two top-five finishes with his best being third in 2014.
