Ben Rhodes was the fastest man in Newton, Iowa on Friday Afternoon as the Camping World Truck Series took to the .875 mile Iowa Speedway for opening practice in preparation for tomorrow night’s Speediatrics 200.
Rhodes ran a fast lap of 23.240 seconds (135.542 MPH) over a tenth of a second fastest than last week’s winner at Texas William Byron.
John Hunter Nemechek was third followed by: Spencer Gallagher and two time Iowa truck winner Timothy Peters rounded out the top five.
Cole Custer was sixth followed by: Rico Abreu, Christopher Bell, Austin Wayne Self, and Cameron Hayley rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Matt Crafton 12th, Daniel Hemric 14th, Tyler Reddick 15th, Johnny Sauter 17th, John Wes Townley 18th, Daniel Suarez 21st, and Parker Kligerman 23rd.
William Byron had the fastest ten lap race run from opening practice. Final Truck Series practice gets underway at 6:00 P.M. ET this evening.
