Spencer Pigot, driver of the No. 20 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet, finished in the ninth position for the Kohler Grand Prix of Road America at Road America. This was the American driver’s first top-10 in his IndyCar Series career.
“I had a lot of fun out there today, it was a really fun race,” Pigot quoted. “I mean the first half of the race we were kind of by ourselves but towards the end there after the restart to be around Montoya and Simon and guys I’ve been watching for so many years, to be racing against them and battling so close it was really cool, and I just can’t thank this team [enough] for having me, Fuzzy’s, Rising Star Racing Chevrolet, it was a really good day and I’m looking forward to building on this next time out.”
The Orlando, Florida native is no stranger to the most famous road course in the United States. The 2015 Indy Lights Champion has driven on the 4.048 mile track four times in his career, all while driving in the USF2000 series, resulting in three podiums and win.
“Yeah, I think having raced here in the past definitely helped getting up to speed with the car and the track here but throughout the race just kind of knowing where to pass and if you overshoot a corner where you can kind of get away with it and where it’s going to bite you so it definitely helps having raced here in the past,” Pigot added.
