On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Lisa DeLeeuw ran in the top-four throughout the entire feature en route to a best career finish of third.
DeLeeuw started off the night by finishing sixth in her heat, followed by a 11th place finish in the Fast Qualifier’s Dash. Come feature time, she’d draw the pole starting spot.
From the top spot, she put her No. 84 Partimer Sign, Gelderman Landscape Services, Royal Synergies Collision, Skytech Rentals, Solex Steel, Safeway Towing, BDS Enterprises, Can-Alignment, Auto Clinic, Scentsy Independent Consultant, Real Burger Company, Cabral Racing Promotions and Country Girl Design Mustang out front as the field battled behind her.
She led till Lap 3, when she was passed for the top spot by eventual feature winner Ken Townsend. Sophomore Chandler Bos attempted to make a pass on DeLeeuw for second on Lap 5, but was unable to complete the run, falling back in line.
Battling high and low through lap traffic, DeLeeuw kept herself in the runner-up spot till the last lap when she was passed by two cars just before the checkered flag. She’d cross the finish line in the fourth spot.
In post-race technical inspection, the runner-up finisher was DQ’d, allowing DeLeeuw to be bumped up to third in the final running order.
Thanks to Partimer Sign, Gelderman Landscape Services, Royal Synergies Collision, Skytech Rentals, Solex Steel, Safeway Towing, BDS Enterprises, Can-Alignment, Auto Clinic, Scentsy Independent Consultant, Real Burger Company, Cabral Racing Promotions and Country Girl Design for their continued support.
