Darrell Wallace Jr. is now $15,000 lighter in the pocket book after being fined by NASCAR on Wednesday Afternoon after making comments on social media after the XFINITY Series race at Daytona last weekend.
Wallace expressed his displeasure with how the race ended and referred to NASCAR officials as “muppets” after NASCAR reviewed the finish and declared Aric Almirola the winner of the race after a door to door battle with Justin Allgaier as the race ended under caution.
Wallace violated the following sections of the NASCAR rule book.
- Section 12.1 of the rule book deals with the general procedure for a violation of NASCAR rules
- Rule 12.8 a deals with NASCAR membership and member conduct
- Rule 12.8.1 b deals with potential penalties and details having to do with member conduct.
Wallace finished 20th in the Subway Firecracker 250 and sits ninth in the championship standings heading into this week’s race at Kentucky.
