Tyler Worley looked to be doing everything right Saturday July 2nd when the Southeast Super Stocks rolled into Tri-County Motor Speedway – however it wasn’t meant to be his night. Instead, Sawdy Frady got top honors
Notably Worley started the night looking to celebrate in style as it was his 21st birthday. The night started off well as he led the practice sessions, but lost a little bit of momentum in qualifying as he qualified third. Frady, who has been on a roll the last few races, snagged the Southeast Super Stock Pole Award, and went on to roll a three on the dice invert.
This now set up for Worley to start on the pole for the race. He quickly set sail on the rest of the field and never looked back. There was only two cautions during the race – one as a piece of asphalt came up on the backstretch, the other was when there was a hard fought three way battle for third place as Spencer Childers, Jason Leatherwood, and Clint Watkins got together coming off turn four. Worley fought hard all night to try and bring home the trophy but as the laps began to run out, Frady turned the after burners on and took the top spot away from Worley. Frady went on to capture the victory followed by Worley, Leatherwood, Carver, and Franklin.
