The NASCAR XFINITY Series hit the track early Thursday Morning for the first of four practice sessions on the newly repaved and reconfigured Kentucky Speedway.
Two time Kentucky XFINITY Series winner Austin Dillon was the fastest of the 34 driver who too time in the early session. Dillon ran a fast lap of 28.761 seconds (187.754 MPH). Dillon’s lap was over a full tenth faster than Kyle Busch who finished second.
Erik Jones was third followed by Ty Dillon and Daniel Suarez. Cole Custer, Brennan Poole, Brandon Jones, Elliott Sadler, and Justin Allgaier rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Brad Keselowski 11th, Ryan Blaney 13th, Brendan Gaughan 16th, and Darrell Wallace Jr. 18th.
The XFINITY Series will return to the track today at 1:00 P.M. ET for second practice.
