Kyle Larson will be going back to his roots next week when the Camping World Truck Series makes its annual trek to the Eldora Speedway.
Larson will race for GMS Racing in next Wednesday night’s Aspen Dental Eldora Dirt Derby. It will be Larson’s second Truck Series start of the year. Larson’s other start came at Martinsville earlier this year where he finished fourth.
Larson has two previous truck starts at Eldora finishing second to Austin Dillon in 2013 and 26th in 2014. In 2011, Larson made history as only the second driver in history to win all three races in one night at Eldora as part of the Four Crown Nationals.
“We ran three different types of cars there in one night — Midget, non-wing Sprint cars and Silver Crown,” Larson said. “That was my first time at Eldora. I won a Midget race the next year there and then I’ve crashed really hard there a couple of times.”
“It’s a cool, historic race track with very prestigious races going on there. … If I could win a Truck race there it would be pretty special.”
Larson has five career NASCAR national series victories. Four in the XFINITY Series and one in the Camping World Truck Series coming at Rockingham in 2013.
