Taking the lead in the early stages, Ken Townsend never looked back en route to winning the Signs of Innovation Mighty Mini feature on Saturday night.
Following qualifying, it’d be James Levi starting pole ahead of Harold Noseworthy, Billy McLeod, Melissa Bullen, Dylan Holmes, Wendy Adams, Eric Rainey, Doug Smith, Doug Wilman, Robert Toope, Ken Townsend, Daniel Montanari, Morgan Robson Jr., Johnny Paradzinski, Lisa DeLeeuw, Peter Wakeling, Josh Inglis, James Campbell, Chandler Bos and Scott Brooks.
Noseworthy put the No. 69 Honda Civic out front on the opening lap ahead of Levi and McLeod. McLeod got by Levi on Lap 2 for second, bringing Holmes through with him. Holmes then got alongside McLeod for second at Lap 4, though it’d be Townsend getting by them, as well as Noseworthy to take over the lead on Lap 5.
McLeod moved up to second on Lap 6, bringing Holmes through with him. Bullen was the next to make the move on Noseworthy, however contact ensued which resulted in Noseworthy going around to bring out the caution. With 15 laps to go, Townsend led McLeod, Holmes, Wilman, Rainey, Paradzinski, Levi, Toope, Montanari, DeLeeuw, Inglis and Brooks.
Townsend got a good restart to keep the lead while Rainey and McLeod battled for second. The caution then flew for a second time, though, for Bullen spinning in turns three and four. Under caution, Bois stalled on the frontstretch.
Townsend got another good restart with Rainey clearing McLeod to move up into second, Holmes got alongside McLeod for third, while Toope and Paradzinski battled for fifth. The caution then flew once again, though, as Campbell spun in turn two. With 11 laps to go, Townsend led Rainey, Holmes, McLeod, Wilman, Paradzinski, Toope, Montanari, Levi, DeLeeuw, Brooks and Inglis.
Townsend continued his string of good restarts with Rainey keeping in toe, as the battle for third went three-wide between McLeod, Holmes and Paradzinski. Paradzinski slipped back a bit on Lap 11, allowing Wilman to get alongside him for fifth. Wilman completed the pass on Lap 14 to get fifth, with Toope getting alongside Paradzinski for sixth.
Paradzinski completed the pass, tracking down Wilman and McLeod for a three-wide battle for third behind Holmes. The caution then flew on Lap 17 as Robson wrecked Adams down the backstretch. With four laps to go, Townsend led Holmes, McLeod, Rainey, Wilman, Paradzinski, Montanari, Toope, DeLeeuw, Brooks, Inglis and Bullen.
Townsend got another good restart, leading all the way en route to picking up the victory. Dylan Holmes finished second, followed by Daniel Montanari, Doug Wilman, Johnny Paradzinski, Billy McLeod, Eric Rainey, Lisa DeLeeuw, Robert Toope, Scott Brooks, Melissa Bullen, Josh Inglis, James Levi, Doug Smith, James Campbell, Harold Noseworthy, Peter Wakeling and Chris Foster.
