After three solid races at Flamboro to start the year, the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models are set to head to Delaware Speedway for their fourth race of the year. With lots of experience throughout the field, there should be lots of great racing for the fans to see.
Shane Maginnis will be looking to get back to victory lane as he made his OSCAAR return in a big way in June with the win at Flamboro Speedway. He has one previous Delaware Speedway start, finishing 12th in 2012.
J.R. Fitzpatrick enters this weekend looking for his second straight win after posting a win at Flamboro two weeks ago. The Cambridge, Ontario native knows Delaware Speedway quite well with laps there in the past, and was running strongly last year before contact took him out of contention.
Four-time series champion Glenn Watson would love to get a win, and knows what it takes to get around the London, Ontario oval. In three previous OSCAAR starts at Delaware, he has a pair of top-fives. Watson could use a good run this weekend after mechanical issues a couple weeks ago.
Gary Passer has lots of experience in the OSCAAR ranks and hopes to continue his solid start this year after posting two consecutive top-five finishes. He has a best finish of ninth at Delaware Speedway.
After spending some time away, Jim Bowman made his return behind the wheel of a super late model this year. He got off to a solid start, posting a seventh place finish last month. However, a couple weeks ago saw a mechanical issue take him out of contention. He could use a good run this weekend.
Tyler Hawn started off this year well with three straight top-nine finishes. He has a best finish of 12th at Delaware.
Charlie Gallant knows what it takes to run well at Delaware as he finished eighth a couple years ago. He’s also done well so far this year, with a top-10 finish in each of the three races.
Roy Passer hopes to be at the front of the field after starting off the year with three consecutive podium finishes. He has done well at Delaware in the past, posting a runner-up finish in 2011.
Todd Campbell surprised a lot of people last year, posting five straight top-10 finishes. So far this year, he’s off to a solid start with a top-10 in each race, and continuing to get closer to the front. Delaware has treated him well in the past, with a sixth place finish in 2011.
With this weekend being such a big event for the tour, there are a slew of drivers who are set to make their 2016 OSCAAR debuts.
2014 OSCAAR Champion Andrew Gresel will be back behind the wheel this weekend, hoping to build on his success earlier this year at Delaware where he won a pair of pro late model events.
Five-time Series Champion Rob Clarke will be making his return following a heavy crash last year at Delaware Speedway. Before the crash, he was running in the top-five in contention for the win. Delaware has treated him well previously, though, as he won in 2011 and 2012.
Delaware Speedway favourite Jesse Kennedy was out testing earlier this week as he looks to improve on his runner-up finish last year. To go along with last year’s solid run, he finished fourth in 2012.
Delaware Super Stock regular Darrell Lake will be making his outlaw debut this weekend, driving a third entry for Fitzpatrick’s team.
Along with the OSCAAR Super Late Models at Delaware Speedway this Friday will be the OSCAAR Modifieds.
