KOOL KIDZ-CORR/PAK 360 SPRINT CARS (23 entries)
The 360 Sprint Car teams were busy with their regularly-scheduled event, plus began their racing portion of the evening by making up the 20 lap A-Feature which was rained out on July 8.
Dylan Westbrook used his pole position earned on July 8 to lead every lap of the makeup A-Feature, although Dave Dykstra did his best to get through traffic and keep the leader in sight. Westbrook was able to stay up front and claim his second consecutive Ohsweken win, while Dykstra settled for the runner-up spot. Alex Hill scored her first ever 360 Sprint Car podium finish, while Jake Brown and Dain Naida rounded out the top five.
Ryan Turner led the first lap of the regularly-scheduled A-Feature, but Jim Huppunen quickly took the lead and led the remaining 19 laps. Paulie Colagiovanni looked to be mounting a challenge for the lead early in the race, but his momentum was broken when he scraped the backstretch wall in traffic. The win was the Huppunen’s first since 2013, while Mitch Brown moved up to take a runner-up finish, followed by Colagiovanni, Glenn Styres, and 14th starter Dave Dykstra.
Mitch Brown continues to lead the championship standings, but the rest of the top five was shaken up. Rookie of the Year candidate Dylan Westbrook is now 40 points behind Brown and 2nd overall, while Dave Dykstra is just 1 point behind Westbrook.
