For the third straight OSCAAR Modified event, Gary McLean was in victory lane. McLean scored the victory on Friday night at Delaware Speedway.
Taking the lead in the final 10 laps, Gary McLean picked up the win in the 30-lap feature sponsored by Toromont. It marks his fourth straight podium finish, dating back to a third place finish at Delaware in June.
While a familiar face reigned the night, Barry Newman caught attention in his first start of the season as he led some laps en route to finishing in the second spot. Chris Milwain completed the podium with his third straight top-eight finish.
Rookie Luke Gignac turned in his fourth top-five of the season with a fourth, while Justin Demelo rounded out the top-five.
2014 OSCAAR Super Late Model Rookie of the Year Kelly Balson filled in for Dan Price behind the wheel of the No. 09 Modified, and had a solid performance en route to finishing sixth. Jay Christie finished seventh, followed by Rob Di Venanzo, David Balych, Ryan Dick and Gary Elliott.
Jeff Showler and A.J. Emms finished 12th and 13th, respectively, following a late race incident. Showler got loose, getting into Emms, with both drivers hitting the wall.
Dale Reinhart finished 14th, while Brian McLean rounded out the field after being involved in a wreck at the start with Christie.
Going into the Chase for the Colours at Peterborough Speedway this Saturday night, the drivers eligible for the OSCAAR Chase are: Gary McLean, Gignac, Price, Elliott, Emms, Horner, Harper, Di Venanzo and Brian McLean. Out of those drivers, only eight will make the cut when the Chase begins. If a driver wins the Chase for the Colours, they will be locked into the Chase, as long as they maintain eligibility by competing in the required amount of races.
