Starting just outside the top-10, Jade Franklin battled hard all feature long en route to a fifth place finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Frankin started off the night solidly, finishing second in his heat, followed by a fifth place finish in the Fast Qualier’s Dash.
Come time for the feature, Franklin escaped the incident off the drop of the green flag to move into the top-10. From there, he continued to gain ground, moving up to sixth by Lap 8 when the caution flew for debris in turn two.
The restart saw Franklin battle Archibald for the eighth spot. Archibald got by Franklin, though then took Herb Walters and Nic Troback three-wide at Lap 13. In the skirmish with some going wide and getting sideways, Franklin came out on top in the sixth spot ahead of the three-some. Franklin then used the next restart at Lap 20 to move up into the fifth spot.
He then held on for the final 10 laps, crossing the finish line in fifth. Notably, it also marks his eighth straight top-10 for Franklin.
