BRIGHTON, Ont. – July 29, 2016 – The Brighton Speedway Kiwanis of Trenton Kart Klub resumed action on Thursday night with 37 karts signed in for racing around the infield oval. It was a busy and action-packed night on a tacky and fast racetrack.
Rinaldi Completes Hat-Trick
Nathan Rinaldi won his third Junior Restricted division feature of the season in dominant fashion. Rinaldi started outside the front row for the 15-lap main event and led flag-to-flag in a caution free race. He crossed the finish line a half straightaway ahead of Kyle Anderson and Michaela Lough.

Peterson Scores Junior Sportsman 2 Win
Emily Peterson engineered her top starting spot in to a commanding win Junior Sportsman 2 action. She led from the drop of the green until the checkered waved while Cole McKeown and Chandler Leclair rubbed fenders for the second position with McKeown taking the runner-up spot.

Down Claims Junior Sportsman 1 Victory
Carson Down started at the rear of the Junior Sportsman 1 field but the youngster from Trenton certainly didn’t finish there. Down drove past Keira Turner on lap five and engaged the cruise control button from there. At the finish, he led by a half lap over Turner and James Markland for his fourth win of the season.

Shorts Earns Victory Lane Parking Spot
A hard fought Rookie 2 feature race resulted in Nathan Shorts stopping his No.20 kart in victory lane. The Codrington, Ont. driver started at the rear, but didn’t stay there long. Once he was out front, he built an insurmountable lead and claimed the victory over Ashton LeClair.

Bowers Wins Rookie 1
Brooklyn Bowers started on the pole and never relinquished the top spot on the way to here second win of the season in Rookie 1 competition. It didn’t come easy, however, as Bowers had to protect the bottom lane from three-time winner Jace James in the closing laps and third-place runner Carson McKee

McDoanald Takes Box Stock 2 Feature
Max McDonald took a smooth and steady approach from his pole starting position and used it to lead all 10 laps of the Box Stock 2. Cooper McKeown, Tyson Cooper and the rest of the field made it difficult on the Brighton youngster, but McDonald remained calm and cool on the way to his first win of the season.

Gabe Miller Steals Feature Win From His Brother
Gabe Miller only led one lap in the Box Stock 1 feature, but it was the most important one. Gabe took the lead from his brother Gordie off of turn four and stole the checkered flag, his fourth of the season. Coleson Gregory was glued right to the back bumper of the top two drivers and finished a very close third.
