When talking about the best stories of the 2016 season Blake Koch and Kaulig Racing have to be near the top of the list.
The 30-year-old Florida native is enjoying one of his best seasons in NASCAR with 10 top 15 finishes in the XFINITY Series this season. Koch looks to be primed for another great finish this weekend at Iowa as he won final practice in preparation for tomorrow night’s U.S. Cellular 250. Koch ran a fastest lap of 23.489 seconds (134.105 MPH).
Koch’s lap was .055 seconds ahead of Sam Hornish Jr., who was second. Erik Jones was third followed by Daniel Suarez and Brendan Gaughan.
Ty Dillon, Justin Allgaier, Elliott Sadler, Darrell Wallace Jr, and Drew Herring rounded out the top ten on the speed chart.
Notables include: Ryan Reed 11th, Josh Berry 12th, Austin Theriault 13th, Dakoda Armstrong 15th, Brandon Jones 17th, Justin Marks 20th, Brennan Poole 21st, and Ryan Sieg 22nd.
