Running up front all feature long at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night, Cameron McGlashan picked up his first career GCC Construction Corporation Mini Stock top-five finish.
McGlashan started off the night by finishing seventh in his heat, though found some luck with the pre-race feature draw, pulling two to start second for the 25-lap affair. Starting from second, he was able to gap the cars behind him to keep the position all the way till Lap 11, when series points leader Nic got alongside McGlashan for second. Montanari took the runner-up spot on Lap 14 ahead of McGlashan. McGlashan ran third all the way till the caution flew at Lap 19 for a spin mid-pack.
On the restart, McGlashan lost some ground, falling back to the fifth spot as he was passed by Brandon Crumbie and Jake Watson. He continued to battle hard, though, eventually crossing the line in fifth.
