Following a solid start to the season, the OSCAAR Modified drivers are set to return to Flamboro Speedway for their seventh race of the year. With a mix of young and old filling up the roster, it’ll be interesting to see who claims bragging rights.
Gary Elliott hopes this weekend is the magic ticket to his first OSCAAR career feature victory after posting six top-fives last season and three top-10s so far this year. He knows his way around Flamboro, having raced there on a weekly basis in the past and posted a third place finish last year.
Thunder car veteran Luke Gignac joined the modified ranks this season after partnering up with ADAMS Motorsports to drive their No. 99 entry this season. So far, he’s off to a solid start as he finished in the top-eight in each of the eight races, including a runner-up at Flamboro in July.
A.J. Emms looks to build on his success he’s had early this season as he’s shown speed each week, including a runner-up at Flamboro in May and a runner-up last weekend at Peterborough.

Another other past winner? John Harper, who scored his first career OSCAAR victory last August at Flamboro. The veteran could use a good run following his first top-five finish of the year last weekend at Peterborough.
The driver to watch this year could be Cory Horner as he has continued to impress, clawing closer to his first career victory. He’s been solid this year with three top-five finishes, including two at Flamboro Speedway.
Gary McLean enters this weekend on a roll, coming off four straight wins. The defending four-time series champion that will carry into positive momentum at Flamboro this weekend. Notably, he’s won the last two races at Flamboro.
Chris Milwain and Shane Stickel each made their 2016 debuts at Flamboro in June, both posting top-10 finishes with Milwain third. Since then, Milwain ran two more races, scoring a top-eight finish in both events. Both drivers were constant top-five runners in the past, with Stickel making a trip to victory lane at Full Throttle Motor Speedway. If they both continue to follow the tour, look for them to post up another pair of solid runs.
Monty Kelly hopes to keep his string of top-10s going following a sixth place finish at Delaware and a 10th at Flamboro in July.
Brian McLean will be one of the past Flamboro Speedway winners in the field after winning the inaugural OSCAAR event in 2013 after taking the lead in the late stages. McLean had a great performance at Flamboro in June, finishing in the runner-up spot.
