With the Camping World Truck Series and Sprint Cup Series both off this week, the focus is on the 13 turn Mid Ohio Sports Course and the XFINITY Series as they prepare for tomorrow’s Mid Ohio 200.
Ty Dillon led the way in the opening one hour and 25 minute session. Dillon ran a fast lap of 84.598 seconds (96.087 MPH). Dillon’s lap was 1.090 seconds faster than second place Sam Hornish Jr.
Brandon Jones was third followed by Brendan Gaughan and Ryan Blaney.
Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, Darrell Wallace Jr., Daniel Suarez, and Justin Marks rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Owen Kelly 11th, Nelson Piquet Jr. 12th, Blake Koch 13th, Kenny Habul 14th, Erik Jones 16th, Andy Lally 18th, and Brennan Poole 19th.
