Alex Tagliani Leads Can-Am Le 50 Tours Practice

Alex Tagliani may just be on the way to another victory this season.

The driver of the No. 18 EpiPen/Riobel/ComplexeJCP/Juste du Pin Chevrolet topped the practice chart with a lap of one minute and 7.3 seconds. Tagliani enters this weekend with momentum following a top-six finish in each of his series starts this year, including three wins. The Lachenaie, Quebec native has two poles (2009, `13) an average finish of 10th and a best result of third (2015) in six previous Trois-Rivieres appearances.

Kevin Lacroix was second quickest, 0.024 seconds behind Tagliani. The driver of the No. 74 Bumper to Bumper/Total/Go Fast Dodge is another favourite entering this weekend after becoming the first driver in the history of the series to win a caution-free race last season at ICAR in his first start at the track. He then backed it up with a win last year at Trois-Riveries, too. He enters this weekend with some momentum following an eighth place finish in Saskatoon.

Daniel Morad was third quickest, looking to back up his top-10 finish from the Honda Indy Toronto, followed by Alex Labbe. The driver of the No. 36 Can-Am/Kappa/Cyclops Gear/Lous BBQ Dodge enters this weekend with momentum following a third place finish at Saskatoon, and has posted an average finish of 12th with a best result of fourth (2015) in four previous Trois-Rivieres races.

Current points leader Andrew Ranger rounded out the top-five. The driver of the No. 27 Mopar/Pennzoil/Mopar Express Line Dodge enters this weekend leading the points by a single point ahead of Cayden Lapcevich. Ranger is the master of the streets of Quebec, posting a finish of first or second in each of his nine starts.

D.J. Kennington was sixth, searching for third straight top-10 finish following a sixth at Saskatoon, followed by Marc-Antoine Camirand, L.P. Dumoulin, Jason Hathaway and Simon Dion-Viens.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series has one more practice, before qualifying later on this afternoon ahead of Sunday’s race.
