BRIGHTON, Ont. – Brighton Speedway’s four Triple Crown championships concluded last Saturday night. Three drivers retained their titles from the 2015 season while one driver earned a new crown. Charlie Sandercock, Andrew Hennessy, Justin Ramsay and Tyler French are the 2016 Triple Crown mini-series champions. Hennessy is the newest Triple Crown winner after finishing third last season.
Sandercock’s second Triple Crown win last Saturday night secured him the Hotch’s Auto Parts Pro Late Model crown by eight points over Picton native Adam Turner. Turner finished all three races in the top-five, including last Saturday’s runner-up result. Phil Potts and Brandon Mowat finished third and fourth, respectively. Caley Weese and Tyler Rand tied for fifth.
Andrew Hennessy secured the ABC Taxi Canadian Modified Triple Crown championship a couple of weeks ago. Hennessy had one win and two second place finishes in the three races to edge Bloomfield’s Dan Ferguson by just two points. Ferguson has one win and two third-place finishes to his credit. Josh Hennessy also earned a Triple Crown win to finish third ahead of Curtis King and Kraig Handley.
Justin Ramsay nearly swept the Larry’s Towing Pro Stock Triple Crown with two wins and a second-place finish. He claimed the title by 12 points over Wade Purchase, who was the only other driver to win a 25-lap Triple Crown feature. Doug Anderson earned third after finishing in top-five in each race. Brandon Murrell and Jonah Muttom completed the top-five.
For the ABC Taxi Comp 4 Triple Crown, it was the Tyler French show. French earned two wins and a third-place finish in the three 20-lap event to grab the title. He finishes 16 points head of Peter Moore, who had a pair of podium finishes. Bella Cosstick finished third in the standings on the strength of two third-place results and is followed by Adam Flieler and rookie Matthew Moore.
Brighton Speedway congratulates all of its 2016 Triple Crown winners on their accomplishments. Brighton Speeedway extends thanks Hotch’s Auto Parts, ABC Taxi and Larry’s Towing for supporting the Triple Crown series throughout the 2016 season.
