On August 24 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Kasey Kahne and Terry Labonte along with LiftMaster unveiled Kahne’s throwback paint scheme he will run next weekend at Darlington Raceway. The paint scheme will honor Labonte’s 1982 JD Stacy Buick livery and will also coincide with LiftMasters founding year.

“This paint scheme brings back a lot of really great memories for me, and I’m honored that LiftMaster put together this program with Kasey and the No. 5 team for Darlington,” Labonte stated. “To experience the unveiling through virtual reality is something I would have never thought was possible in 1982, so to see just how far technology has come and how LiftMaster integrates it into its products was really neat.”
The livery was revealed via an interactive virtual reality experience, allowing all guests present at the unveiling to go back to 1982, seeing the car as Labonte raced it, while seeing Kahne’s tribute version as well.
“Darlington’s throwback weekend is one of the coolest programs any track does all year,” Kahne added. “I’m glad that LiftMaster is participating in the program to celebrate their start of the garage door opener business. I appreciate the opportunity to honor Terry Labonte with our throwback paint scheme at one of my favorite tracks.”
IMHO Terry and Bobby LaBonte will always be NASCAR’s Class Act. Hope Terry will be at Darlington.
