After a weekend of beating and banging at Bristol Motor Speedway, the Camping World Truck Series took to the high speed two-mile Michigan International Speedway on Friday Afternoon in preparation for tomorrow’s Careers for Veterans 200 Presented by Cooper Standard and Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation.
Cameron Hayley set the pace to beat in opening practice with a lap of 38.543 seconds (186.804 MPH). Hayley’s lap edged second place Johnny Sauter by .002 seconds. Matt Crafton was third followed by Brett Moffitt and Ben Rhodes.
Tyler Reddick, Cody Coughlin, William Byron, Rico Abreu, and John Hunter Nemechek rounded out the top ten on the speed chart.
Notables include: Timothy Peters 11th, Christopher Bell 13th, Grant Enfinger 14th, Daniel Hemric 15th, Ben Kennedy 16th, Cole Custer 18th, and Ryan Truex 20th.
The Truck Series will return to the track today at 4:00 P.M. ET for final practice.
