KOOL KIDZ-CORR/PAK 360 SPRINT CARS (20 entries)
Cory Turner brought a 20 car field to the green flag for the Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Car main event. The Caistor Centre, Ont. driver led the opening laps while fourth starting Dylan Westbrook raced past Dain Naida for second on lap five.
The only caution of the race slowed the field on lap nine and erased a half-second leader for Turner. Westbrook restarted and took advantage of the new-found track position. Westbrook was glued to Turner’s tail tank on the restart and on lap 11 executed a perfect slide job in turn four to take the lead from Turner.
Westbrook navigated lapped track without incident over the final nine laps to secure the victory. Cory Turner recorded a second-place finish ahead of Dain Naida, Jake Brown and Jim Huppunen.

STRICKLAND’S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS (17 entries)
The Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars returned for their final make-up feature of the season with two 15-lap features. The first feature lined up based on the August 5 completed heat races with Mike Thorne leading the opening laps from the pole position.
Third-starting Mack DeMan of Mississauga, Ont. quickly pressured Thorne and took the lead on lap four. He encountered lapped traffic on lap nine while running ahead of Thorne and Shone Evans. The slower cars weren’t an issue for DeMan who cruised to the victory ahead of Evans while Holly Porter drove to third.
The second feature was the final one overall on the night and DeMan earned the pole via the redraw. DeMan led a three-car breakaway in the early laps with Aaron Turkey and Brad Herron in tow. The lead was erased on lap four when Corey Gruhl, making Crate Sprint Car debut, spun in turn four to bring out the yellow.
Turkey used the restart to challenge DeMan in the top lane and the two raced nose-to-tail at the halfway point. On lap 10, the leaders were in traffic and Turkey struggled to get around a pair of cars, breaking his momentum and allowing DeMan to retain the lead. Turkey made one final bid for the lead on the last lap, but spun in the final corner while DeMan drove to the checkered flag. Jesse McDonald and Thorne avoided the spinning Turkey to finish second and third, respectively.

OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY THUNDER STOCKS (31 entries)
The Ohsweken Speedway Thunder Stocks were 28 cars strong for their feature event. Fifth starter Jason Lungaro led the opening three laps until the race was slowed for the first of two cautions. On the restart, Ryan Dinning drove to third after starting in the 21st position with the 20th starter Dave Bailey right behind him.
On lap six, Dinning took the lead briefly during a three-wide battle, but saw his lead erased by the final yellow on lap nine. Bailey used a perfectly executed crossover move in turns one and two to steal the lead from Dinning in the bottom lane. Bailey disposed of the lapped traffic effortlessly over the final 11 laps, but Dinning remained in touch with Karl Sault in third. Bailey, however, was strong enough to retain the lead and earn the checkered flag over Dinning and Sault.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS (44 entries)
The biggest race of the season for the HRW Automotive Mini Stocks brought one of the biggest fields. Forty-three cars were signed in for the 42-lap Art Hill Memorial.
Jonathan Ayrton and Barry Westman brought the field to the green flag, but Mark Bazuin and Brandon Janssens quickly positioned themselves in a battle for the lead up front. The two drivers exchanged the lead three times before the first caution on lap 15 for a stopped Steve Miller in turn three.
Bazuin missed a shift on the restart, allowing Janssens to take the lead ahead of Brian Crosgrove and Jake Bazuin. Through two more restarts, Jake Bazuin mounted a charge at Janssens and held the lead on lap 30.
Jake Bazuin and Janssens raced door-to-door for several laps and continuously swapped the lead until the race’s final caution on lap 36. Janssens remained in the outside lane around the rim of the racetrack, while Jake Bazuin was meticulous on the bottom. Janssens lost enough ground with two laps to go for Jake Bazuin to seal the victory at the checkered flag and win his first Art Hill Memorial. Janssens retained second ahead of Mark Bazuin.
