In one of the best side-by-side battles of the season, Jordan Howse beat out Dan Archibald to score the victory in the St. Onge Recreational Super Stock feature on Saturday night.
Following time trials, it’d be Jordan Howse starting pole ahead of Dan Archibald, Herb Walters, Anthony DiBello, Stan Coe, Matt Bentley, Nic Troback, Johnny Morrison, Ryan Semple, Coltin Everingham, Kendra Adams, Mike Weeda, Stefan Semraro, Brandon McFerran, Keith Temple, Miles Tyson, Dennis Cybalski, Justin Holmes, Nick Tooley and Frank Davey.
On the drop of the green flag, Dan Archibald put the No. 07 Seaton Structures Super Stock ahead of Howse as DiBello and Walters ran side-by-side for third. DiBello took the third spot on Lap 2 ahead of Walters, with Coe completing the top-five.
Howse was able to keep close to Archibald, getting alongside him at Lap 5 for the lead while Coe got alongside Walters for fourth. Three laps later, Howse put the No. 8 MacMaster Buick GMC of Orangeville, Stewart’s Equipment, Kubota, Glenn Windrem Trucking, Paul Howse and Associates, Foodland of Hillsburgh, John Teune Engines, FierceWraps.ca, Dutchboy Carpet Cleaning, Specialized Welding, LaRue’s Haulage and Georgia Beck Brooms Super Stock out front ahead of Archibald, DiBello and Coe as Troback and Walters ran side-by-side for fifth.
Troback got the spot on Lap 10, just before the caution flew for Morrison blowing up going into turn three. in the oil behind Morrison, Tyson and Semeraro went for the spin – but were able to keep off the wall. With 20 laps to go, Howse led Archibald, DiBello, Coe, Troback, Walters, Semple, Bentley, Adams, Semeraro, Everingham, Tyson, Cybalski, Holmes, Weeda, Temple, Tooley, Sikes, Passer, Hughes, Constable and Davey.
The first attempt at a restart brought forth the caution with Weeda spinning in turn three.
The second attempt saw a battle for the lead between Archibald and Howse, with the caution flying once again on Lap 13 for Adams spinning on the backstretch while Walters went sliding sideways through turn three.
The third attempt at a restart went cleanly, with Howse and Archibald battling side-by-side as DiBello ran third ahead of Coe and Troback. Semple worked his way up to sixth ahead of Tyson and Bentley. Semple looked set to gain more ground, getting alongside Troback or fifth at Lap 16.
On Lap 17, Howse was able to clear Archibald for the lead as DiBello continued to run third ahead of Coe, Semple and Troback. Tyson then got alongside Troback for sixth at Lap 19, completing the pass two laps later. Behind them, McFerran was able to get alongside Bentley for eighth at Lap 21 ahead of Semeraro, Cybalski, Holmes, Walters and Everingham.
Jordan Howse then led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Dan Archibald, Anthony DiBello, Stan Coe and Miles Tyson. Ryan Semple finished sixth, followed by Nic Troback, Brandon McFerran, Matt Bentley and Stefan Semeraro.
Dennis Cybalski finished 11th, followed by Justin Holmes, Herb Walters, Coltin Everingham, Jade Franklin, Mike Weeda, Nick Tooley, Brandon Passer, Frank Davey and Ethan Constable.
William Hughes finished 21st, followed by Kendra Adams, Keith Temple and Johnny Morrison.
