Starting from the pole, Stan Coe didn’t look back as he led flag-to-flag in the St. Onge Recreational Super Stock feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
As noted, Coe started pole ahead of Anthony DiBello, Dan Archibald, Treyten Lapcevich, Justin Holmes, Matt Bentley, Jordan Howse, Mike Weeda, Brandon McFerran, Miles Tyson, Nic Troback, Jade Franklin, Ryan Semple, Dennis Cybalski, Kendra Adams, Herb Walters, Coltin Everingham, Stefan Woyslaw, Nick Tooley, Frank Davey, Ethan Constable, Brandon Passer, William Hughes and Johnny Morrison.
Off the drop of the green flag, Coe put the No. 58 Timber Mart of Stayner and Cabral Racing Promotions Camaro out front ahead of Archibald, DiBello and Bentley as Lapcevich and Howse battled for fifth. McFerran ran sixth as of Lap 3 ahead of Holmes and Tyson, who ran side-by-side ahead of Troback, Semple and Franklin. The first cauton then flew on Lap 5 for Hughes going around.
The restart saw a battle for the lead between Coe and Archibald, with Coe holding down the top spot and clearing Archibald on Lap 6. Bentley moved up into third with Howse getting alongside DiBello for fourth. Howse got the spot on Lap 8, with Lapcevich looking to follow suit. Lapcevich was unable to clear DiBello, falling back in line in sixth. Behind him, McFerran and Tyson ran side by-side for seventh.
The championship battle heated up on Lap 10 with Howse getting alongside Bentley for fourth, as Lapcevich got back alongside Archibald for sixth ahead of Tyson. Lapcevich got the spot on Lap 13, with Tyson following him through; DiBello now ran eighth ahead of Semple. At the halfway mark, Howse managed to clear Bentley for third.
There were battles throughout the entire race as Tyson got alongside Lapcevich for fifth at Lap 16, completing the pass a lap later. Behind them, DiBello ran seventh ahead of Semple, McFerran, Holmes and Franklin. Holmes then got alongside McFerran for ninth at Lap 20, while Tyson got alongside Bentley for fourth at Lap 21.
With seven laps to go, Stan Coe led ahead of Archibald, Howse, Tyson, Bentley and Lapcevich as Semple and DiBello ran side-by-side for seventh. Behind them, Holmes ran ninth ahead of McFerran, Franklin, Weeda and Cybalski as Morrison and Troback ran side-by-side for 14th. Morrison got the spot on Lap 27, with Semeraro looking to follow him through.
Howse was able to track down Archibald for second, looking to gain another spot as the race came to a close. On the last lap, though, contact happened between the pair off of turn two, resulting in Archibald going for the spin.
The contact ended the event with Stan Coe getting the win ahead of Miles Tyson, Matt Bentley, Treyten Lapcevich and Anthony DiBello. Ryan Semple finished sixth, followed by Justin Holmes, Brandon McFerran, Jade Franklin and Dustyn Mombourquette
Dennis Cybalski finished 11th, followed by Johnny Morrison, Nic Troback, Stefan Semeraro, Kendra Adams, Coltin Everingham, Herb Walters, Brandon Passer, Dan Archibald and Jordan Howse.
Mike Weeda finished 21st, followed by Nick Tooley, Frank Davey, Ethan Constable and William Hughes.
