On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Eric Yorke made his way through the field en route to a top-five finish.
Yorke started off the night solidly, finishing second in his heat followed by a runner-up finish in the Dash for Cash.
Starting mid-pack for the feature, he’d escape an early wreck ahead of him to move into the eighth position with three laps on the board. He’d get a good restart, moving up into fourth by lap 5. Yorke then got alongside JP Rosevaar got third at Lap 6, completing the pass a lap later. The caution then flew about five laps later, allowing Yorke to close the gap between himself and the leaders.
The restart saw Yorke run side-by-side with Nic Montanari for second till the third caution then flew on Lap 14 as a result of a single-car spin. Ultimately, this restart didn’t work in Yorke’s favor as Montanari was able to clear him for the runner-up spot. However, he wasn’t set to give in as he got back alongside Montanari for second at Lap 15.
Despite the effort put in, Yorke fell back to the third spot with six laps to go, where he’d cross the finish line.
