One of the two drivers to have started all 120 NASCAR Pinty’s Series races is set to make his 121st, and final on Saturday at Kawartha Speedway.
Jason Hathaway will bid a farewell to the Pinty’s Series following this weekend’s season finale Kawartha 250 race.
In a career that spanned 10 full-time Pinty’s Series seasons, and even included a short stint in CASCAR, Hathaway recorded eight national series victories across Canada, and finished a best of second in the series championship last year.
“I have had a great career and I am extremely proud of my accomplishments and our Team’s accomplishments on the track,” Hathaway said in a release Thursday. “Narrowly missing the Championship several times and 8 NASCAR wins are some of my cherished accomplishments. I think my greatest and most humbling achievement was being honored as the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Most Popular Driver.”
Hathaway cited personal commitments as his reason to retire from full-time racing.
“My wife Jamie and I feel that 2017 is a great time to pursue some other projects we have on the go and want to spend more time with our children.”
