Simon Pagenaud, driver of the No.22 Team Penske Chevrolet, won the pole for the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma at Sonoma Raceway, with a speed of 112.594 mph.
He was followed by Team Penske teammates with Helio Castroneves (112.362 mph) and Juan Pablo Montoya (112.177 mph) second and third. Topping off the top-five were Will Power (111.992 mph) and Graham Rahal (111.921 mph).
Completing the top-10 were Ryan Hunter-Reay, Scott Dixon, Alexander Rossi, Sebastien Bourdais and Josef Newgarden.
There were no issues in qualifications.
