WEEDSPORT, NY – September 18, 2016 – The Go Nuclear Late Model Series’ second ever visit to Weedsport Speedway for the Gillee’s NAPA Auto Parts 30 was cut short on Sunday by rain following the completion of qualifying heat races. With limited dates remaining in the 2016 calendar, the event will not be made up.
All drivers in attendance were paid $175US and awarded 40 championship points.
Before the rain fell, Bryce Davis of Hornell, NY, Chris Fleming of Auburn, NY and series point leader Charlie Sandercock of Trenton, Ont. won qualifying heat races. The B-Main was about to hit the track when the skies opened up forcing the cancellation of the remainder of the event.
The Go Nuclear Late Model Series is next in action for its biggest race of the season on Saturday, September 24 in the Great Crate Race at Brighton Speedway’s Applefest Shootout. The 65-lap race pays $6,000 to the winner and $250 to start (figures in Canadian dollars).
The series has two further dates on the 2016 schedule with stop at Fulton Speedway on Friday, September 30 and Brockville Ontario Speedway on Friday, October 14 during the Fall Nationals.
