Rain put a damper on this morning’s Sprint Cup Series practice for tomorrow’s Citizen Soldier 400 but not before Jeff Gordon put down the fastest lap of the shortened 40 minute session.
Gordon ran a quick lap of 22.428 seconds (160.514 MPH). Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was second, .127 seconds behind Gordon’s quick time.
Ryan Newman was third followed by: Kasey Kahne and Paul Menard rounded out the top five.
Clint Bowyer, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Matt Kenseth 12th, Chase Elliott 14th, Kurt Busch 15th, Denny Hamlin 17th, Jimmie Johnson 19th, Chris Buescher 20th, Brad Keselowski 22nd, Austin Dillon 23rd, Joey Logano 24th, Tony Stewart 25th, Kyle Busch 27th, and Martin Truex Jr. 28th.
