High stakes and high drama are likely to unfold as the NASCAR XFINITY Series returns to the Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend for the first elimination race in the inaugural Chase for the Championship.
Ryan Sieg led the way in the first practice session on Thursday with a speed of 29.726 seconds (181.659 MPH). Ty Dillon was second, .004 seconds off the pace set by Sieg. Erik Jones was third followed by Blake Koch and Kyle Larson.
Daniel Suarez, Austin Dillon, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and Matt DiBenedetto rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Kevin Harvick 11th, Justin Allgaier 12th, Elliott Sadler 13th, Darrell Wallace Jr. 15th, Ryan Reed 16th, Brandon Jones 19th, Brennan Poole 20th, Brendan Gaughan 21st, and Cole Custer 24th.
