Following a solid season of competition, the OSCAAR Pro Midgets are set for their season finale this weekend at Flamboro Speedway. While originally scheduled as a two-day event, it’s worth noting it has been shortened to a one-day show on Saturday due to rain in the forecast.
Ted Greenwood sold his championship winning car already to Daniel Hawn. Hawn will make his series debut this weekend.
‘Wild’ Willy Northcott has been fast each week, posting four podium finishes. He ran into motor issues at Peterborough, but will look to bounce back strong this weekend.
Wally Wilson will make his seventh career start, hoping to build upon his fourth place finish at Grand Bend earlier this year.
Glen Blaker will hope to have a strong run this weekend after finishing in the top-eight in three of his four starts, including a fifth place feature finish at Grand Bend in July and his first heat win at Flamboro.
Canadian Vintage Modified regular Cassidy March struggled in his debut with the series, however came back strong for a third place finish at the Autumn Colours Classic.
Adrian Kemps hopes to make it two in a row this weekend after picking up the victory in the Autumn Colours Classic.
Summers Racing debuted at Peterborough Speedway, with Kelly Summers picking up the victory. The team continued to impress at Flamboro Speedway as Rob Summers won a heat, followed by a pair of top-fives for Rob and Katherine in the feature. It’s a question as to who will be behind the wheel, and how they will fare.
The No. 37 team hopes to score their fourth straight top-four finish following a fourth and a win for Shawn Paul, and a runner-up for Jesse Costa.
Jordan Hanna will be looking for his second straight series victory after scoring his first career feature win at Flamboro.
OSCAAR Midget regular Brian MacDonald made his Pro Midget debut at Peterborough earlier this year, finishing a third. Following an eighth in his most recent start, he’ll be looking to return to the top-five.
Jack Ackworth had one of the strongest debuts, finishing third at Flamboro Speedway. He’ll look to improve a couple spots on Saturday.
With it being one of the marquee events, there promises to be some more drivers beyond those listed here in the field this weekend. Details about this weekend’s event can be found on the Flamboro website at http://www.flamborospeedway.ca
