Jimmie Johnson paced the field during Friday’s final practice for Sunday’s Hellmann’s 500 at Talladega.
Johnson ran a quick lap of 48.761 seconds (196.386 MPH). Matt Kenseth was second with a speed of 196.338 MPH.
Chase Elliott was third followed by: Carl Edwards and Alex Bowman.
Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard, Ryan Reed, Kyle Busch, and Martin Truex Jr. rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Denny Hamlin 11th, Joey Logano 13th, Kurt Busch 14th, and Austin Dillon 15th.
Many teams opted to sit out during final practice to prevent from getting damage ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying session.
