Garth Tander will start in pole position for the final race of the 2016 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship in Sydney this afternoon.
In his final race for the Holden Racing Team, Tander set a blistering lap time of 1.27.16 in the Top 10 Shootout at the Coates Hire Sydney 500.
Newly crowned Supercars Champion Shane van Gisbergen will start alongside Tander on the front of the grid in the last ever race at Sydney Olympic Park.

Van Gisbergen added another honour to his name today when he secured the 2016 ARMOR ALL Pole Champion Award with seven poles for the year. He wins $10,000.
The final race of the 2016 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship kicks off at 3.40pm local time. Supercars will issue a video news release after today’s race at approximately 6.30pm local time.
