With Easter weekend approaching, we wanted to look back on the Easter Race Weekend at Nashville Superspeedway with the last Easter Race coming back in 2011. The, at the time, NASCAR Nationwide Series, raced on the 1.333 mile track in Lebanon Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. It was an exciting race weekend included an Easter egg hunt for the kids in attendance and 300 miles of racing from the series where names are made.
In all of the spring races at the Nashville, only one driver was able to gain a victory more than any other drivers. Kevin Harvick first won the race in 2006, that season Harvick would go on to win the NASCAR Busch Series Championship. Harvick was the most successful driver on Easter weekend which seemed to mean he found the golden Easter egg when it came to Nashville in the spring time.
Though Harvick found much success in the spring time, overall Carl Edwards found more success at Nashville. Edwards was able to do two back flips to celebrate Easter and was even able to pull off a sweep which no other driver has done at Nashville and with the future looking cloudy for the track, it may never be done again.
Though teams like the off weekend to celebrate Easter with their families, it was always one of those races that had a special touch to it and honestly wouldn’t have any special feeling if it was anywhere other than Nashville but as noted above, the future isn’t looking good for Nashville and it’s a shame.
